Matthew B. Cullen
Investing In a Process Focused Practice
Born in Bogotá, Colombia then adopted, Matthew B. Cullen (he/they, él/elle) is a theatre director and creative producer now living in Spanish Harlem. They are a Lin Manuel Miranda Family Artistic and General Management Fellow.
The goal is to cultivate a community and curate a culture of administrators, artists, and audiences alike around a process focused practice. To do so, they are building a set of artistic, business, and management skills so that they may one day be a co-artistic director of a theatre company that develops new works at all stages.
Their process is focused on disrupting oppressive and harmful practices by centering health, equity, and community. They lead with kindness, curiosity and the goal of collective liberation by investing in a process focused practice. To learn more about their process and principles, check out The Groundwork.

Recently, he was accepted as a Brenna Thomas' mentee in Tom O'Connor Consulting Group's All Rise Initiative for rising BIPOC administrators.
